NEWTS WORLD SERIES BOUND

NEW CARLISLE - For the second straight season, and the 10th time overall, the New Carlisle Newts will play in the ORWBL World Series.

Despite finishing the regular season with a 15-15 record, the Newts have found a groove in August, first sweeping the Mishawaka Meatspins in the Wild Card Round and then sweeping the Granger Panthers in the NLDS.

The Newts took the first two games of the best-of-five NLCS against the Glen Lee Skeeters. After the Skeeters evened the series with back-to-back one-run wins, the Newts exploded in the decisive Game 5 to rout Glen Lee, 43-9.

New Carlisle will face the American League champions, Mill Pond Pink Pandas, in the World Series. The first three games are scheduled for Sunday, August 25 at Migley Field. First pitch is set for 1pm ET.

The balance of the best-of-seven title tilt will be played at Walter Metts Field in Union Mills on Sunday, September 1.
